'Blacksmithing Experience'
You will get the chance to hand forge a variety of products and generally experience the joy of shaping hot metal on a traditional Blacksmith’s anvil and under a power hammer. You get to take home various products that you have made from scratch and they will be talking pieces for years to come.Be prepared to get your hands dirty, with this very ‘hands on’ experience, forging metal objects from upcycled materials. I will be there assisting you, one-on-one, helping you understand the art of raw blacksmithing.

What can I make in a Half day Experince?
In this Half-Day Blacksmith Experience, you’ll craft 3–5 small unique creations from railway spikes. Take a look at our shop to see examples like our bottle openers and oyster shuckers or steak turners
The number of items you complete depends on your skill, focus, and fire-forged determination but Tom will make sure you walk away with some great, one-of-a-kind pieces.
PLEASE NOTE : if you wish to make a larger item like a Cleaver you will need a FULL day
What can I make in a FULL day Experince?
A Full Day Blacksmith Experience opens the door to creating a larger, more advanced piece, such as a cleaver or pizza cutter. These projects involve a heat treatment, a precise process that takes time but while your main piece undergoes heat treatment, you’ll also have the opportunity to forge a few smaller items, ensuring you get the most out of your day at the forge.
With Tom’s expert guidance, you’ll finish the day with impressive, one-of-a-kind creations that truly showcase your craftsmanship and will become lasting family heirlooms, proudly passed down through generations.
Please note :
Only 1 larger item like a Cleaver or Pizza Cutter can be made per person with a MAXIMUM of 2 per day - if you have a group you will still be restricted to our range of smaller products or you could all have a go at making the same larger item.
What days are experiences available?
ANY DAY - we are open for bookings for 7 days a week as we work our family life around bookings.
Also all bookings are EXCLUSIVE so when you book, that is your private slot, you won't be in with other random people.
Are all the materials included in the Experience price?
YES - everything you need will be included in the price - all the materials used including wooden handles etc. You also get to take home everything you make.
We do suggest that if you would like to add an extra layer of sentimental value then you are more than welcome to bring along any materials to use. For example, if you have your own rail spike that you have collected on a family holiday then, instead of leaving it in a box in the garage, why not bring that and turn it into something amazing.
Also all the safety equipment is provided like aprons, eye and ear protection but if you have your own you are welcome to bring that too.
What can I make?
Honestly your imagination is the limit, we have had people make all sorts of things that are not even in our website shop. For example people have made marshmallow roasters, garden sculptures, camp over holders and even house numbers to go on their letter box.
